Terms & Conditions

(a) The full terms of this agreement are strictly confidential and will be provided on application.

b) It is on the basis of this agreement, where and when the sub-contractor may carryout MIAS accredited Bike Maintenance Training Courses with suitably qualified MIAS Instructors. All training day dates to be confirmed to Afan Valley MTB in advance. A designated catchment area of ten miles radius from a centrally nominated point, (being the company or project address in most cases) will provide their operating student catchment area.

(c) Sub-contractors are set up to serve specific Mountain Bike related community projects. Provision of Log-books and certification will be controlled at a pre set yearly price which may increase year on year with inflation. The Subcontractor may offer training courses to students from their “nominated catchment area only” at whatever cost they decide, but that figure may not be advertised on the Internet or through the press. Promotional activities will only be permitted after discussion with Afan Valley MTB. It is envisaged that sub-contractors will promote their activities through their contacts and involvement with local projects. They must not solicit students from beyond their catchment area. However some overlap may occur especially in the S/Wales Valleys.

(d) Subcontractors may have the opportunity to work in the Afan Forest Park or other areas of South Wales as a Guide or Maintenance/Instructor for Afan Valley MTB on an agreed fixed price, by the day or half day. Any attempt to solicit work directly from Afan Valley MTB’s customers or to work for competitors in the Afan Valley will result in the termination of any agreement currently in force between Afan Valley MTB and the Subcontractor.

(e) Payment terms. Payment in full to accompany application for Log-books.

(f) Course certification for each student will be posted to the address the Subcontractor specifies.

(g) A completed registration form for each student with MIAS number allocated, to be posted to Afan Valley MTB within 5 days of the end of the course.

Application to provide “Certificated MIAS Mountain Bike Maintenance Training Courses” under the direction of Afan Valley MTB.

Afan Valley MTB are the exclusive provider of “MIAS” Mountain Bike related training courses in East & West Wales and the South Wales Valleys.

Getting your team up to L4 Instructor/Trainer status, for MIAS Hit Maintenance will involve your potential instructors spending 2 days at Afan Valley MTB training School and a half day with us looking over the shoulder of the potential Instructor/Trainer whilst they run a course. Cost £345.00 Inc of Log-book and Certification.

Instructors will have to have had some knowledge of Bike repairs

Appointed Subcontractors to Afan Valley MTB sending Welsh Mountain Bike Leader candidates L1 L2 to Afan Valley MTB for training & assessment will receive a £20.00 discount on advertised MIAS Welsh MTB Leader course fees.

VAT is not charged on Training Courses.
